Doris Marut passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Consulate Nursing Home in Vero Beach, FL; after a devastating illness which began on October 17, 2003. Born in St. Francis Hospital in Trenton, NJ, Doris graduated from Trenton’s Cathedral (Girls) High School, and remained a lifelong resident of Mercer County, NJ, until relocating to Vero Beach, FL in 2009. Doris was pre-deceased by her father, Walter, her Beloved Mother, Theresa Di Marcella Marut, and her Beloved Sister, Evelyn Marut. She is survived by cousins and by her dear friends, Mary M. Doris was a devoted Roman Catholic throughout her life. Doris’ hobbies included writing poetry, drawing and sketching in charcoal and watercolor, and dancing. She loved celebrating Christmas and created beautiful Christmas scenes under her tree. For years, Doris, her Mother and Sister traveled to Philadelphia, PA. weekly, to dance in Dick Clark’s “American Bandstand” TV shows. Doris loved all God’s creatures, but dogs were her lifelong passion. Snoopy, a male black-and-tan Beagle puppy was her last and most beloved dog. Doris possessed a quick wit and an innate ability to make people laugh heartily and joyfully. Dear, Dear Doris, we love you and will miss you.
