William H. Topley, 89 of West Trenton, NJ, passed away October 4, 2021 at his residence. He was a lifelong area resident of Ewing Township. Left to cherish his wonderful memories are his loving children; Wayne Topley (Angela), of Pennington, NJ, Jeffrey Topley of Yardley, PA, and daughter, Bonnie Cooper (John), of Ewing, NJ, seven cherished grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and another great grand baby on the way, brother in law Lewis Slocum, and sister in law Kathleen Topley, several neices and nephews as well as brothers in masonic and friends who will miss him deeply. William is predeceased by his beloved wife, Beverly J. (Carver) Topley of whom he was married to for 64 amazing years. Parents Leroy and Hannah Topley, siblings Howard and Alyse Topley, Mary(Topley) and William Dubinski, Emma (Topley) Slocum, Leroy Topley, Helen (Topley) and Thomas Allibone, Barbara (Topley) and Wayne Phillips. Mr. Topley also like to be known as "Topper" after his brothers passing he took on his nickname. He began working as a "telephone pioneer" with NJ Bell Atlantic, before being called up into the Navy as a "Seabee" for over 3 years. When he was honorably discharged, he resumed his career with NJ Bell Atlantic which is now known as Verizon, he started as a lineman and worked his way up to a teacher/trainer before retiring with after over 30 years of employment. He was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Ewing Twp. He was a devoted member of the Trenton Cyrus Masonic Lodge for over 60 years serving two terms as Past Master, and a member of Amwell Lodge F & AM. he was also a member of the tall cedars, Scottish rite and Shriners New Jersey Chapters. William was a member of the former Beaver Dam Hunting club. He enjoyed sharing his wisdom and stories of life and spending quality time with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and friends, and going to Parx and Borgata casino. William was known for giving out smiley faces and his secret recipe peanut brittle. William will be forever remembered for his wonderful outlook on life and always smiled, he touched so many peoples lives. As William put it "lead by example, be a good person and smile it cost nothing" Memorial Service will be held graveside, Saturday, October 23, 2021, 10:00am at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton Township, NJ 08610. Arrangements are under the auspices of David C. Chiacchio and the compassionate staff of the Chiacchio Southview Funeral Home.
